At Cisco, we know our most important strength is our people. And while we want everyone to feel that they are a very important part of what makes Cisco great, we also know not everyone feels this way all the time. This is one of the key reasons Our People Deal came to life.

We know, many of you are still saying, “Ok—but what is Our People Deal exactly?” So here it is in plain language: Our People Deal is the culture Cisco wants and needs to lead in our industry and return to big growth. It already exists today in pockets across our organization and we want to spread it everywhere.

And now you're probably wondering—“So what IS that culture?” It's the one you told us you want more of, and it's also the one we need to support our business strategy.

You told us that you were really proud of our technology and what it enables you to do—so that became Connect Everything.

You told us you are surrounded by good, talented, smart people who are able to do amazing things—so that became Innovate Everywhere.

You told us that our technology enables our people to impact our world like no other—so that became Benefit Everyone.

Now, to understand the culture that's needed to support our business strategy, let's think back to what we hear from Chuck. He talks about the significant changes in our industry with digital transformation. Our customers require speed, innovation and flexibility, and they need that from us, too. This means we need a culture of speed, agility, innovation, customer focus, connection, collaboration and higher purpose. This is Our People Deal.

So why is it a deal? Because there are two sides to building culture. Cisco plays a part in creating culture, but each one of us plays a part in creating it too—in how we show up at work. So, for Our People Deal, there's the side of the deal that Cisco offers you and there's also what we ask of you.

Those two sides make it a deal—the most important deal at Cisco. Because we think it's a big deal if our people are asking us to do things better. So, we want to show all of you how you matter by addressing the areas that matter to you most. And we want you to bring your best self to work so together we can continue to make amazing things happen.
