Teams That Time2Give Together

Our employees wow us every day with their generosity. Check out these amazing stories of teams coming together to do good for their communities.

Building Bikes and Sorting Food as #OneTeam

A rally from leaders is all it took for these employees to get involved. That’s what Frank Palumbo and Andre Smit did. They challenged their employees in Data Center and Collaboration Sales to dedicate a day in Q2 to giving back. And the team showed up. Since December, teams have participated in Time2Give projects across the United States and United Kingdom, including:

  • Preparing 500 boxes of food for seniors in Colorado
  • Assembling 150 bikes for children in RTP
  • Fundraising for a Texas food bank
  • Sorting clothes for local and relocated families in Massachusetts
  • Delivering “Santa Magic” to children at Wexham Park Hospital in England
  • Building homes for Habitat for Humanity in Florida

It takes just a few helping hands to make a huge impact. They came together and showed up as #OneTeam, with plans to continue their giving projects through the rest of the year.

Feeding the Homeless and Bringing Gifts to Families in Need

We’ve seen a commitment to service, from Services! The EMEAR Technical Onboarding and Adoption team in Vienna kicked off the new year by volunteering at Caritas Tageszentrum, an organization that provides various social services, including preparing meals for those in need. The team spent their time cooking chicken stew and rice, and serving the meals. With materials costing only EUR€150 (US$186) and a couple of hours of work, they were able to feed 120 homeless people in Vienna that day.

In Poland, Services employees partnered with Noble Box, a program dedicated to helping struggling families during the holidays. The teams came together to collect clothes, bedding, toys and other gifts for the families they helped. They got the Krakow and Warsaw offices involved in raising donations and were able to personally deliver their gifts to the families. From Kilometers to Bhat: How Thailand Employees Raised Money for Hospitals

On the run and raising money for hospitals in Thailand

In more remote parts of Thailand, access to adequate healthcare can be difficult. One famous rock star in Thailand, Toon Bodyslam, decided to start charity runs to raise money for hospitals throughout the country. Inspired to take part in his Kao Kon La Kao campaign, eleven employees at Cisco Thailand used their Time2Give in December to run 106km! For every kilometer they ran, BHT฿5 (US$0.16) was donated to the cause, in addition to their personal donations. Wrapping up at the end of the month, the funds raised through the project were donated to 11 hospitals in Thailand.
