WARNING: Yam Spam.

It’s been a generous few months for all of us who came together to Be the Bridge. We benefited people, society, and the planet in big ways.

Looking for some inspiration? Here are some highlights from around the world.

The annual Yam Jam was in full swing in RTP! A total of 16,000 pounds of yams were sorted and bagged for the local food bank.
In Shanghai, employees acted as the eyes for visually impaired walkers — they got to meet service dogs! — and held a beach cleanup with their families.
Amsterdam was packed with superheroes as they filled up food boxes at the Amsterdam Food Bank.
Mexico held fun fundraising events and built homes with Habitat for Humanity.
Employees in Lisbon walked with Associação Salvador to map out areas that are inaccessible to people with disabilities.
The Bay Area Renewals team volunteered with Raphael House, tidying up for its holiday activities.

Can’t get enough? Neither could our volunteers! Operations rallied to participate in a huge way. Here are some highlights from their efforts.

At the Bedfont Lakes nature reserve, employees helped clean the reserve and met cute animals. Employees in the U.K. also sorted donations with First Days.
Sydney employees donned hair nets to prepare meals with Our Big Kitchen.
Employees in Bangalore participated in Splash, an arts and crafts extravaganza for children with disabilities.
In San Jose, employees built bikes for underprivileged children with Turning Wheels for Kids.

It’s been a great year of giving for us. We volunteered more than 360,000 hours this year!

Remember, Cisco Foundation matches volunteer hours with approved organizations at $10 per hour. Be on the lookout for opportunities near you on Bright Funds, or check out the volunteer catalog for ideas for team and group activities.
